Managing Editor

Western Montana news leader KPAX-TV in beautiful Missoula is looking for a dynamic Managing Editor to join our award winning news team.  The candidate will be responsible for the production of our 5:30 and 10:00pm newscasts Monday through Friday, working closely with the News Director on assignments and content. The Managing Editor will be responsible for writing stories, building graphics, editing video, generating web content and coordinating live shots and breaking news coverage. The candidate will also assist the News Director in the day-to-day management of the newsroom.  In addition to regularly scheduled newscasts, the Managing Editor will help plan and execute special programing, including election night coverage. 

We are seeking a journalist with excellent editorial judgement, with compelling and accurate writing skills.   You must be a leader and a self-starter who can multitask in a hectic environment.  We want someone with great people skills who can coach and inspire our staff.

Candidates should have a minimum of five years’ professional experience as a producer/manager in a television newsroom.

A college degree in a related field is preferred.

Qualified applicant must possess a valid Montana drivers license, good driving record, and proof of adequate automobile insurance.
