Job Description:

We are seeking an innovative individual to lead a local sales team. This position is responsible for creating and executing a sales strategy for our market leading television station and best of breed digital suite. The right individual for this position will be charged with helping our local sales team succeed by delivering customer solutions through integrated media platforms.  The position requires growing new business as well as core shares on direct and agency business.  The Local Sales Manager will be responsible for growing and developing the sales team through consistent training and fieldwork. He/she will be responsible for recruiting local salespeople as needed. The position reports to Director of Sales.

  • Develop short-term, mid-term and long-term business plans for the local sales department.
  • Complete appropriate business activity reports and forecasts using Matrix and WideOrbit analytics as required.
  • Maintain customer satisfaction and accountability through consultative selling.
  • Coach and lead sales staff; responsible for setting the pace for local account executives and constantly providing feedback to better their performance

Job Requirements:

  • Must have proven track record as a broadcast Account Executive or sales manager.
  • Minimum two years of sales management in television preferred.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills required.
  • Must have strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Prefer deep knowledge of TV software such as Wide Orbit Traffic and Wide Orbit Media Sales, Matrix, and qualitative data programs.
  • College Degree required.
