Web Producer
KATC, an ABC affiliate in Lafayette, LA, has an immediate opening for a Web Producer.
The Web Producer will be responsible for strategy, oversight and execution of all news content on all digital platforms including KATC.com, KATC’s flagship apps and social media. This person will need to be competitive in posting stories first, while also being accurate and complete. They will also need to show creativity and be a strong writer/editor.
Key Responsibilities:
-Continually trains key staff and the newsroom on all matters related to digital content.
-Maintains consistency on digital, sets standards, sets a voice for content and makes sure all staff members understand and comply with standards.
-Keeps on tops of trends, particularly on social media. Lets others know what’s working, what’s not, and communicates changes with KATC’s management and staff.
- Monitor multiple news sources for compelling content to adapt for online use
-Is the “digital voice” in future planning for elections, festivals, etc. Ensures digital is part of the plan early.
- Creates original content: stories, slideshows, videos, interactive presentations to complement broadcast product.
