KTVQ 2

Since signing on November 9, 1953 as KOOK-TV, KTVQ has been a leader in the Billings Market. We have led local news ratings and remain the only Billings television station that has not changed affiliation (CBS).

KTVQ maintains a strong involvement in our community.

For the past 20 years we have sponsored numerous programs involving the Billings Food Bank, Billings Education Foundation, Family Services Inc. and many other organizations striving to make Billings a better place. We continue programs like One Class at a time year after year and have given roughly $60,000 to help the teachers in our community. KTVQ’s investment in the education of our children doesn’t stop there. Since its inception, our One Kid at A Time program has given 24 scholarships to students attending college in Montana and Wyoming.

KTVQ was also awarded “Outstanding Television Campaign in the Nation” for our involvement in the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway. The station assisted raffle raised $600,000 for the first Dream Home constructed in Montana. This effort will help children nationwide who have been diagnosed with cancer.

We strive to give the residents of Montana and Wyoming a news resource 24 hours a day. The integration of a 24/7 news room, via KTVQ.com, has been an invaluable resource to our viewers. We look forward to the challenge of revolutionizing our news coverage and “keeping up” with ever changing interactive media.

KTVQ has been a steady fixture in the Billings community for more than 50 years. We look forward to the next 50 providing information “Fair ... Accurate ... and To the Point.”

Market

Billings has a population of 120,000. We have a strong agriculture market, an upbeat business community and three oil refineries. This diversity has helped Billings weather the recent economic slowdown. Our DMA includes eastern Montana and northern Wyoming.
