Web Developer - PHP, Javascript

We seek a web developer that can assist our Client Solutions team with in-house web application development needs, both maintaining existing applications and developing new tools. The person we hire should be good with managing time efficiently, able to work well in a team environment and be able to set priorities and work independently toward the company’s goals.

Specific Responsibilities: 

• Work with Client Solutions team to design, develop and maintain web applications that support our digital product sales teams affiliated with local television stations and newspapers.
• Exercise solid coding practices, including good design, documentation, unit testing, and peer code-reviews.
• Create user interfaces compatible with contemporary versions of major web and mobile browsers.
• Work with subject matter experts, company executives, and other technical resources to gather the objectives and goals of each project.
• Debug applications; develop testing activities; and document requirements, code and user instructions.
• Be accountable for project plans, timelines, project tracking, meeting delivery dates, and support on assigned projects and tasks.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

• A bachelor’s degree in information services, computer science, computer engineering or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Proficient in PHP 5; at least 3 years demonstrated experience.
• Knowledge in HTML, CSS, XML, Javascript including HTML5 and responsive design.
• Familiar with databases and SQL syntax; emphasis on MySQL.
• Experience with integration technologies (SOAP, XML, REST, etc.).
• Excellent organization skills and attention to detail. Ability to set priorities and multitask in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
• Excellent verbal, written and visual communications skills, and interpersonal communications abilities. Ability to adapt and succeed as part of a fast-growing, fast-changing team.
